Not Enough Space To Download Office On Macbook Air

I have Xcode 7.2 running and want to update to version 7.3. The update prompts for not enough disk space. Then, I removed the current version of xcode and frees more space. My harddisk now has 23GB disk space. Installation through Mac App Store still prompts 'There is not enough disk space available to install the product.' My machine is a MacBook Air 2011 and has only 64GB SSD harddisk. Therefore, I have to use the bare minimum harddisk space for Xcode. Don't tell me to free up 50GB disk space which is impossible. What is the minimal disk space for installing Xcode 7.3?

Tip: I had to upgrade my OS X because you can't install Office for Mac with any version of OS X below 10.10. To see my tutorial on how to upgrade your OS X go here. I also had some internet interruptions on my initial download to my downloads folder and had a hard time opening the package because it did not download the full 2.6GB. 128 GB sounds too little, if you install MacOS and Windows 10 with a range of handy applications. My SSD-only laptop has 107 GB left of 224 GB. I have Visual Studio Express, NetBeans, Eclipse, Office 365 etc installed on it.
